The 5 Cities I Want To Visit Next

Because I Love to Travel

Traveling is something I very much enjoy. I like to experience the culture, be surprised by the architecture, analyze the style of living and its people, and soak in history as much as I can.

Sadly, I haven’t been able to do that in the past few years, apart from a few internal travels (busy life, hectic world), but soon, when the world is in a better place, hopefully, I will be able to experience what I have missed.

I think cities are living structures made by people for people. They are supposed to help us grow, evolve and discover new possibilities.

I find it amazing to experience different human cultures and how they manage to build and define cities through actions taken across hundreds and thousands of years.

My need to know, see, and experience further has only gone up after exploring some stunning cities in the world.

I have made a list for myself for the next five I would want to get to know.

Barcelona — Architecture

I have heard only beautiful things about it, and it has only made me want to visit it even more. For a long time, one of the most visited cities in Europe, I figure, it has to be a reason for it.

There’s nothing too fancy I want to do at first. Just get out of my room and take on the streets on foot. I want to view the Gaudi-inspired architecture and feel the vibe and pace of the city. I want to experience the cuisine and visit the sunny beaches.

I find that simple things are among the best.

Paris — Romance

My second foreign language in school was French. I have always found pleasing the smoothness of it. Nowadays, I understand it better than I speak it, but I can manage quite well.

It would be a shame not to experience the most romantic language in one of the world’s most iconic cities. It is too big of a city to explore in one go.

So, I would, of course, choose the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, and some of its iconic bridges over the Seine. Maybe the Louvre, if not as busy as usual.

Yes, I know, quite touristy of me. I need to get my basics out of the way, and there go more in-depth on my second and third visits.

Tokyo — Diversity

On the opposite part of the globe, the city with the largest population, a true metropolis, Tokyo.

I don’t even know where to begin with this one, but I think it is bound to offer me a different perspective on its people and habits. I’ve practiced karate for over 17 years, so I am keen to compare the Japanese culture with my own far-away “second-hand” experience I’ve had with it.

I am very excited to taste their cuisine. Please sign me up for all the teppanyaki and sushi you can get.

Istanbul — Culture Mix

I have always been fascinated by how people evolved differently across the world. We are from the same species, but we are different in so many ways that sometimes I believe we are from distant planets.

The mix of European and oriental cultures is intriguing. I think its geographical placement and its enormous history book behind it make it a great place to travel.

I want to see the Bosphorus strait and how it separates Asia from Europe, and how cultures clash with one another for thousands of years. Visits to the Hagia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar, and the Blue Mosque are also a must.

I don’t know — I want to feel the vibe and see how the Sun shines in that part of the globe.

Cairo — Ancient History

Yes, I know, what a cliche. I want to see the pyramids. Well, I do. History has always fascinated me, as it has shown how much man has grown, and at the same time, how inventive and resourceful man can be.

I have seen documentary after documentary about the Great Pyramids, the Valley Of Kings, and countless other historic sites. I think it is the setup of an adventure trip, with all the places you can visit, and having the desert as a “companion” makes it even more stimulating.

Of course, I’ve read that the actual city of Cairo has splendid places to see, so I wouldn’t want to go just for the pyramids.

Conclusions

I think the world is full of beautiful places, and if you set your mind to explore it, I don’t think a lifetime is enough for experiencing all the wonders.

Time and money will always be a factor, or, at least, it was in my case, but the dream has never felt more alive than before. Go Life.

What city do you plan on visiting? Are you even more excited to travel than I am?
